Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi due to fever, doctors said on Friday.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the hospital, her condition is stable. She was admitted to the hospital on Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
DS Rana, chairman of the Trust Society, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said Gandhi was admitted to the hospital under the supervision of Dr Arup Basu, a senior consultant in the thoracic department, and his team "due to fever".
"Gandhi is under surveillance and under investigation." Her condition is stabilized," added the bulletin.
Earlier on January 4, she was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital for a routine check-up. Sonia Gandhi was reportedly suffering from a respiratory infection at the time.
